Active voice and inactive voice
In Active voice, the subject does or performs the action denoted by the verb.
The following examples show that the subject is doing the action:
- The girl eats the hamburger.
- Shin makes cakes.
In Passive voice, we change the position of the subject and the verb and use the word "by" to show that the subject is being acted upon.
Here are some examples:
- The hamburger is eaten by the girl.
- Cakes are made by Shin.
